This project involves working in several spaces
through our client’s house.

On the second floor, we are replacing this entire bathroom:
new fixtures, cabinets, tile, light and paint.

We are replacing the original stair railing with a new one in the arts & crafts style.

These built-in painted shelves are being removed, and
we are installing natural cherry  bookcases.

The study is getting entire make-over. We are removing
the paneling, repainting, and changing flooring and lighting.
The existing furniture will be replaced with built-ins.

Demolition of the bathroom started in the shower, pulling down tile.

We worked our way around the room, until all the
drywall and tile was removed from the wall and floor.

December 18, 2012

Drywall has gone up in the bathroom. You can
still see studs in the bathtub area because
those walls will get cement board and tile.

This is the future vanity area. The pipes sticking out of the
wall are the supply and drain lines for the two sinks.

Demolition in the study starts with pulling off wood paneling.

Followed by removing all the drywall.

This area will be where the new built-in desk will be.

Cabinetry is nearly finished in the office.

The new office door, selected to provide more light and
visually connect the office to the living space beyond.

As part of the project, we replaced a dozen doors throughout the home,
like this one on closet near the front entry.

Lead carpenter Brian created this rig to hold the doors in various positions, along with keeping tools powered and close at hand.  This let him quickly adjust the new doors to fit the home’s existing door frames.

March 5, 2013

The primary pieces of the stair railing were pre-fabricated off-site.

The bottom railing is going up, clamped together while glue sets.

Upstairs, Brian works on getting the upper rail assembled.
